Self Leadership
WE ARE PART OF ALL THAT WE HAVE MET.
I have faith in leadership. It works at individual levels, families, communities, nations, and the globe. My divine guidance has been to see people becoming self-made leaders. We are programmed right from our homes and schools that someone has been in front of us. At home parents and firstborn takes the mantle. For the middle born or last born more often, we have to follow the flow to be led or misled. At school, we had head boys, head girls, and captains, the criteria of choice sometimes democratic sometimes not the mercies and choices of our teachers. When you research and conclude how many people led you throughout life and become global leaders it would be shocking. Most, they don't become because opportunities are lacking. What if people are given the opportunity to become natural leaders of their own and to the environment. There would be a huge difference between a lead and a leader. You can have a group that is made up of five friends. With humility, most of the decisions might be made by the low-key profile but the natural one becomes the lead or the voice. It has worked in boy bands and girls group singers. When we forget that self-belief and giving opportunities to people can create magic toward nobler leadership qualities, we not only destroy but we as well forfeit opportunities of making our people bring their genius to change the world.
First, I proclaim that all of us are above other animals. But we are overshadowed by others. We become less animals when we are with others. We become jealous of others when they outshine us. I know of cases where individuals try to bring out the best in a team and they come memes, simply because of their expressions. If our human kingdom has to prosper and each citizen is given the opportunity to display their inborn leadership abilities, the world would be much better humane to live for us and those of the future generations.
I propose that we must give ourselves the opportunity to see our abilities and capabilities. Not in comparison with others but in confrontation when we are dealing with personal, professional, and community issues. We must convince ourselves that we are super beings who can deal with issues in a decent, moral, and respectful way. Once we declare these to ourselves no amount of intimidation from any quarters can deter us from achieving the best shot of any kind. Secondly, when dealing with others we should take lead in trusting and being kind and compassionate to them as decent human beings. Give people, support, a chance, and a belief to be the best of themselves. We should desist and avoid negative criticism and the intimidation that comes with an indention and inhumane treatment of others. Individuals whether brothers or opponents should be treated with compassion and kindness. They must be accorded with every support identified directly or indirectly. To be a leader is to give support to your lead member. Your contributions are very paramount in their own performance. When success is achieved it comes communally. Humility and decency require that whatever success you receive, you can not count on yourself but on the contribution of every human you have encountered along the way. Success is never individual but societal. Right from parents, siblings, clan or community, teachers, mentors, strangers, government, and God they are the summation of individual success. Next time we achieve we should take the position of a lead but recognise the participation of all that were part and parcel of the success.
Any organisation that grows and becomes a success must give credit where it is due and these are all those to all those involved, whether in front or behind the curtains support. All stakeholders become the pillars of the organisation. Owners, workers, government, community, and donors contribute and give support where it's due. It would be selfish for any of us to think all is achieved by miracles or by the role of an individual whatever their talent, gift, or contribution.
You are a leader, take your role and craft your history now. It's all about sacrifice, commitment, teamwork, humility, and collaboration. Don't be overshadowed by low self-esteem, background or credentials.
Have a blessed week.
Moffat.
